The Chippawa Shores development meeting on Oct 15 was well presented and provided information that proactively answered a lot of questions.
Chippawa Shores Development
A subdivision and condominium development is proposed for 190 acres which borders Madawaska River, Green Lake and Labrador Lake. A total of 54 lots with seven shared elements are proposed.
Hastings Highlands-Madawaska Valley Fire Agreement
The Municipality of Hastings Highlands has now reached an Automatic Aid Agreement with the Township of Madawaska Valley effective immediately. The Madawaska Valley Fire Department is prepared to provide fire suppression namely, exterior structural fire suppression, vehicle and grass/brush fires to a defined area in the geographic township of Bangor in which you own property.
Hastings Highlands OMB Hearing
Any member that wishes to express their support to keep the ward system, but unable to attend the scheduled OMB hearing on the matter on Nov. 7 and Nov. 8 can now do so. Please take note of the information below released by the OMB Arbitrator regarding phoning in on the day of the hearing.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry – Bancroft District is advising area residents that a Flood Warning has been issued for all of the Bancroft District. Residents of the Bancroft District should keep a close watch on conditions, regularly check for updated messages and exercise caution near fast-moving rivers and streams.
