As of December 31, 2025, Transport Canada has updated the rules for pleasure craft licensing (commonly referred to as boat registration or “K-numbers”). All new, transferred, and renewed Pleasure Craft Licenses (PCLs) now cost $24, are valid for 5 years, and require updated information within 30 days of any changes.
