The first annual Turtle Walk will be taking place during Saturday May 26th – Saturday June 2nd. This is the Strawberry Moon and considered to be the most active times for turtle nesting in Ontario. As part of the first annual Turtle Walk to raise money for the Turtle Trauma and Tunnel Campaign The Land Between has chosen the Bancroft area as one of the scheduled walk locations. Information about the selected route, date, time and additional details will be available in the coming weeks.
You can pre-register online at www.thelandbetween.ca and www.turtleguardians.com. Turtle Walk packages will be sent to participants and will include pledge sheets and posters. The websites will be updated with more information as well.
The Turtle Walk and Turtle Trauma/Tunnel Campaign is organized by The Land Between in partnership with the Trillium Lakeland’s District School Board, Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre, Ontario Nature, Toronto Zoo and Eco-Kare International.
As always THANK YOU so much for your care and concern for TURTLES. If you have any questions please contact me at thinkturtle@yahoo.com. I may be a little slow at times responding but I will get back to you.
