Levels and flows are coming down in our area. The York river peaked early on April 22/23 at 130 m3/sec and is currently at 40 m3/sec. On Kamaniskeg lake and on the Madawaska levels and flows are also declining. The flow in the river below the Bark lake dam peaked on May 2 at 227 m3/sec and since that time has been steady around 200 m3/sec. The level in the lake peak on May 3 at 75 cm above the maximum operational level and has been declining since that time at 5 cm/day.
At this rate it will take till the middle of May for the level to drop below the maximum operational level and the official flood condition. Local runoff is still a major component of the inflow into our reach.
