Water Quality – North Basin

I submit turbidity test results periodically throughout the boating season and actual water samples in the Spring only from a test location referred to as “North Basin” to the Ontario Environment Ministry as part of the Lake Partner Program. The test location is south of Mask Island.

Here are some graphs and data that provide some idea of what has been happening in Kamaniskeg’s North Basin between 2010 and 2014. Data for 2015 is not available yet and I suspect we won’t see it for many months.
Additional results are available for Blackfish Bay and also for some select years in other parts of Kamaniskeg Lake. This data has been collected by the Ministry directly or by other volunteers (please chime in):

Phosphorus:

Secchi Depth:

To see what other data is available, take a look at Lake Partner Map and search for the lake or body of water that interests you.

Thanks George!
