Flood Warning Bancroft District May 2017
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry – Bancroft District is advising area residents that a Flood Warning has been issued for all of the Bancroft District. Residents of the Bancroft District should keep a close watch on conditions, regularly check for updated messages and exercise caution near fast-moving rivers and streams.
Flood Notice May 2017 – Hastings Highlands
Please be advised that various roads in Hastings Highlands have been affected by the heavy rainfall. Lake St. Peter Rd. remains closed at this time due to a significant washout.
Flood Notice May 2017 – Madawaska Valley
The discharge at Bark Lake dam has had to be increased to slow the rate of rise at Bark Lake. Levels will increase downstream of Bark Lake Dam. The Township has sand and sand bags available for any resident that requires them.
Flood Warning 2017
MNR Bancroft has issued a flood warning for the York and Madawaska rivers. OPG has advised that the conditions will be similar to those of 2013.

Restructuring of Boundaries
After years of heavy taxation and shamefully neglected services by the Township of Hastings Highlands people are looking for better options. The Kamaniskeg Area Property Owners Association has undertaken research into the feasibility of a realignment of a portion of the former Bangor Township with the Township of Madawaska Valley.
