KAPOA Summer Bulletin June 2015

At the meeting of Hastings Highlands Council on Wednesday June 3 the proposed Vegetative Buffer Bylaw was defeated. Without a special motion in Council the issue cannot be revisited for 12 months.

The Hastings Highland Division of KAPOA is looking for volunteers to attend Council meetings. If you can attend one or two meetings per year please contact Ed Kobylka at rockytop695@yahoo.ca and become a part of the political action committee (PAC) and an active member in our community.

Something new: KAPOA is participating in a new festival is to be known as Eat Play Live and is scheduled for Saturday June 27. It will be located at the Barry’s Bay dock and along Lakeshore. The parade starts at 11am. Food & entertainment run from noon to 4pm. It’s a celebration of sport, food and culture and it should be fun.

The Annual KAPOA regatta will be held on Saturday August 1st at the Hinterland Beach on Kamaniskeg Lake. Sailing starts at 11am, and KAPOA registration renewal and sandcastle building start at noon. Swimming & canoeing competitions for a variety of age categories kick off at 1pm.

The Appetizer Party will be held on Saturday, Aug 8, 2015 at 2:00 @ Jolanta & Roman Sakowski 1522C River Road Everyone welcome! Bring an appetizer and a chair.
